Paipa is located 36 km. from Tunja, the capital of the department of Boyacá and is on 2.577mt of high . Its temperature average is 14Cº and it is surrounded by majestic and green prairies, with a cold and dry climate.

Muiscas were the natives who lived here, before the Spanish conquest, in 1568, when they discovered the thermal water sources of the place.

White Spurt Route of Rancheria: Rancheria is a Natural Reserve at 13 kilometers from Paipa. It has an extension of 800 Hectares , it feeds the water system of the city. There are several footpaths cross . One of the best routes is the ascent following the channel of the broken White Spurt, with its beautiful cascade of 10 meters of height.

Palermo route : Palermo is a small village surrounded by a beautiful landscape .It is located at 38 kilometers from Paipa, There are many oak forests ,where the fauna and native flora can be observed. From the Center of Palermo to the Hill named " the tooth" it is a demanding route, with a strong and vertiginous ascent. From the top of the hill, the mountainous chain can be observed.

Hacienda Del Salitre: It is a big colonial house, National Monument, jewel of the XVII century architecture, It owns a beautiful chapel, picturesque balconies and yards, It has its own thermal source for its pool and SPA. Now days, it is adequate as an elegant hotel.

Vargas Monument: It is located at 7km of the urban center. There took place decisive battle for Colombian independence on July 25th , 1819, A Commemorative Monument of fourteen throwers riding their horses ,was elevated, It was built by the sculptor, Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt.
